Largin Castle

Largin Castle is a large multivallate Iron Age hillfort in East Cornwall, sitting atop a steep ridge above the River Fowey valley at 130 metres elevation. Covering approximately 1.8 hectares, the site features triple ramparts and ditches surrounding an oval central enclosure, with ramparts reaching as much as 3.5 metres high in places. A Bronze Age urn of the local Trevisker style discovered in 1975 suggests earlier occupation predating the hillfort. Despite being described by Historic England as "arguably of national importance," the site was not scheduled as a monument until June 2020 and very little archaeological study has been conducted.
