Tomb of Seuthes III

The Tomb of Seuthes III is a royal Thracian burial complex within the Golyama Kosmatka tumulus near Shipka and Kazanlak in Bulgaria's Valley of the Thracian Kings. Discovered in 2004 by Dr. Georgi Kitov, the mound measures approximately 20 m high and 90 m in diameter. The tomb features a 13 m corridor and three consecutive rooms with granite walls, including a circular tholos chamber and a marble door decorated with portraits of a Gorgon and Helios. Burial goods include a gilded bronze helmet, gold wreath, iron swords, and a striking bronze portrait bust of the bearded king found 7 m before the facade, confirming his identity.
