Neolithic Dwellings Museum

A museum in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, preserving two Neolithic dwellings from the 6th millennium BC that are among the best-preserved in Europe. Discovered during construction work in 1969, the site was preserved in situ and opened as a museum in 1979. The main dwelling measures 10 x 5.80 m and stood 7 m high, built from wooden stakes interwoven with rods and sealed with clay. Over 1,800 artifacts were found, including ceramic vessels, stone hand mills, ritual ceramic columns, and the oldest marble statuette discovered in Bulgaria.
