Pistiros was an inland Ancient Greek emporion (trade centre) in Ancient Thrace, situated near modern Vetren in Bulgaria's western Maritsa River valley [1]. The site flourished during the 4th century BC and maintained intensive trade relations with major Aegean centres including Thasos, Maroneia, and Apollonia [1].
