Tatul

Tatul is an ancient Thracian megalithic sanctuary in the Eastern Rhodopes of southern Bulgaria, centered on a massive monolithic rock shaped as a truncated pyramid with two rock-cut tombs accessed by stone steps. The complex spans roughly 3,500 years of use, from the late Bronze Age (17th-11th centuries BC) through the 13th century AD. Scholars have linked the site to the cult of Orpheus, the mythical singer of the Rhodope Mountains. Selected as one of Bulgaria's top ten wonders in 2011.
