Minanha

Minanha is a Maya archaeological site on the North Vaca Plateau of west-central Belize, at the nexus of the Belize River Valley, Mountain Pine Ridge, and Guatemala's Peten District. Discovered in 1922 by a chiclero, it was named "Place Without Water" due to its lack of surface water. Initial occupation dates to the Middle Preclassic (600-400 BC), with peak architectural construction during the Late Classic period around AD 675. The site features a raised elite northern acropolis and administrative-ritual southern complex, functioning as a minor royal center.
