Pacbitun

Pacbitun is a Maya archaeological site in the Cayo District of west central Belize, near San Ignacio.[1] The site name means "stone set in earth" in modern Maya, probably referring to fragmented stone monuments found there.[1] Located at about 240m above sea level, it is one of the earliest known sites in the southern Maya Lowlands.[1] The settlement was inhabited for nearly 2,000 years, from approximately 900 BCE to 900 CE.[1]
