Altun Ha

Altun Ha is the ruins of an ancient Maya city in Belize, located about 50 km north of Belize City and 10 km west of the Caribbean Sea[1]. The site covers approximately 8 sq km[1]. Its tallest structure, the Temple of the Masonry Altars, rises 16 m high[2]. Local villagers repurposed stones from the ruins for modern construction in Rockstone Pond[2].
