Marco Gonzalez Archaeological Reserve

Marco Gonzalez is a Maya archaeological site on Ambergris Caye, Belize. The site contains at least 49 structures, including low platforms and walls arranged around plazas at the northern end. Unlike major inland Maya cities, this coastal settlement lacks the pyramids typical of other Mayan sites in the region. First recorded in 1984 by archaeologists Elizabeth Graham and David Pendergast, the site is named after their local guide. [1][2]
