Takht-e Rostam is a Buddhist stupa and monastery complex carved from bedrock around the 3rd-4th century AD in northern Afghanistan [1]. Located 2 km south of Haibak, the site features five chambers, two serving as sanctuaries, with one displaying a domed ceiling adorned with elaborate lotus leaf decoration [1]. An adjacent hilltop stupa is surmounted by a harmika, while rough caves surround its base [1]. A hoard of Ghaznavid coins was discovered by chance in one of the caves [1].
