A Kushan-era Buddhist stupa and monastery near Jalalabad, Afghanistan, first excavated by William Simpson in 1879. The central relic deposit contained a golden Gandharan amulet with garnets, coins of Kushan rulers Wima Kadphises and Kanishka I, and Roman gold coins including an aureus of Sabina (post-117 CE), dating the stupa's final dedication to after 120 CE. The finds, now in the British Museum, also include Indo-Corinthian and Ionic capitals reflecting Gandharan artistic fusion.
