Said Qala Tepe

Said Qala Tepe is a prehistoric archaeological tell near Kandahar, Afghanistan, standing about 8 metres high and covering 200 by 200 metres. The site shows intensive settlement during the 4th and 3rd millennia BC, attributed to the Helmand culture. Excavations revealed stone tools, bone artifacts, stone vessels, weaving spindles, beads, bronze objects, seals with geometric motifs, and clay figurines of cattle and humans. The presence of early metal industry links it to contemporary sites like Mundigak and Deh Morasi Ghundai on the Kandahar Plain.
