Absalom's Tomb

The Tomb of Absalom is an ancient monumental rock-cut tomb with a conical roof located in the Kidron Valley on the lower western foothills of Mount of Olives, facing the old city of Jerusalem [1][6]. Recent scholarship has dated it to the 1st century AD [3]. The tomb features a conical roof with an inscription in Hebrew dating back to the Second Temple period ^[7]. It stands a few metres from the Tomb of Zechariah and the Tomb of Benei Hezir [2]. This entire area is a large cemetery with thousands of tombs, and the Tomb of Absalom is one of the famous and largest ^[8].
