The Kirkuk Citadel is a fortress in central Kirkuk, Iraq, considered the oldest part of the city [1]. It sits atop a 40-metre-high (130 ft) tell mound on a plateau across the Khasa River [1]. Although most of the citadel was demolished, surviving elements include mosques, tombs, and houses [1].
