Thermos was an ancient Greek sanctuary in Aetolia, serving as the regular meeting place of the Aetolian League [1]. Its focal point was the temple of Apollo Thermios, dating to approximately 630-610 BC, recognized as one of the earliest developed Doric temples and a monument of primary importance for Greek architectural history [1]. The site is renowned for its Archaic terracotta metopes featuring painted mythological scenes, among the earliest known examples of this art form in Greece [1].
