The Miami Circle is a prehistoric timber circle site in Brickell, Miami, Florida, dating to 500 BC–1 AD [1]. It features a perfect circle 38 feet (11.5m) in diameter, defined by 600 postmolds surrounding 24 holes cut into the limestone bedrock [1]. Located on a coastal spit, it is the only known prehistoric permanent structure cut into bedrock in the Eastern United States and predates all other known permanent settlements on the East Coast [1]. Believed to have been built by the Tequesta Indians, it may have served as their capital's ceremonial center [1]. Discovered in 1998, the site is dated to approximately 1,700–2,700 years old [1].
