Haga Dolmen

Neolithic megalithic burial chamber on the island of Orust in Bohuslan, Sweden, possibly up to 5,000 years old. The dolmen consists of four vertical stone slabs supporting a capstone roof, with the burial chamber measuring approximately 2 metres wide and 1.8 metres tall -- the largest interior chamber in the province. Excavations in 1915 by Vilhelm Ekman uncovered amber jewelry, a flint knife, a stone axe with wooden handle, and slate ornaments. Its proximity to a passage grave and a smaller dolmen 250 metres away indicates the area held great religious significance during the Neolithic period.
