Finnestorp

Finnestorp is a Migration Period cult site in Västergötland, Sweden, where more than 700 artifacts were sacrificed and deposited in a lake between 350–550 AD[1][2]. The finds, discovered in 1902 and excavated during 2000–2004 and 2008–2012, include weapons, horse gear, and horse remains, many deliberately cut or chopped before being thrown into the water[1][2]. Several complete bridles and sword belt sets were also found intact[1]. The site is interpreted as a sacred place where war booty wasoffered to the gods[1][2].
