Greby Grave Field

An Iron Age grave field north of Grebbestad in Tanum Municipality, western Sweden, containing over 200 graves making it the largest in Bohuslan. Around 40 graves are marked with standing stones up to 4.5 metres tall, while the rest are round and oval stone mounds. In 1873, archaeologist Oscar Montelius examined eleven graves, finding glass pearls, bone combs, and ceramics dating to the Migration Period (c. 400-500 AD), with artifacts indicating connections to Norway, England, and Germany. Current scholarship links the site to a nearby trading settlement rather than the local legend of Scottish warriors buried after a raid.
