Ixtutz was a Classic Period Maya city in southeastern Petén, Guatemala, situated in the Poxte River valley within the western Maya Mountains[1]. The site was inhabited from the Preclassic through the Terminal Classic periods, with its peak during the Classic era[1]. The site contains 12 stelae and 4 altars, reflecting its importance as a regional political center[2].
