Ixtonton

Ixtonton is a Maya archaeological site in the Petén Department of Guatemala, located 2 km east of Dolores in the northwestern Maya Mountains. [1] It served as the capital of one of four Maya kingdoms in the upper Mopan Valley. [1] The site was occupied from the Late Preclassic through the Terminal Classic periods (c. 400 BC-900 AD), with evidence of continued activity into the Postclassic. [1]
