Barton Creek Cave is a natural cave in Belize, serving as both an archaeological site and tourist destination[1]. Located in the upper Barton Creek area near San Ignacio in the Cayo District, the cave contains evidence of Maya use on ten ledges within its first kilometre of passage[1][2]. Extensive looting occurred soon after the cave was first reported, yet it remains an important site for researchers studying Maya cave rituals and settlement patterns[1].
