Khortytsia is the largest island on the Dnieper River, measuring 12.5 km long and up to 2.5 km wide, located within Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine [1]. The island forms part of the Khortytsia National Reserve [1]. Archaeological evidence dates human occupation to 4500–3000 BC during the Neolithic and Eneolithic periods [2]. It later became strategically important during the Zaporozhian Cossack era [1].
