Allianoi is an ancient Roman spa settlement dating from the 1st to 5th century AD, located 18 km northeast of Bergama (ancient Pergamon) in Turkey's İzmir Province [1]. The site features baths and natural springs that were valued by Romans for their therapeutic properties [2]. Discovered in 1998 and only partially excavated, the nearly 2,000-year-old city was ultimately submerged beneath the Yortanlı Dam reservoir in February 2011 after being covered with sand [3].
