Gåseborg

Gåseborg is an Iron Age hillfort in Järfälla municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden, situated along the historic waterway between Lake Mälaren and Jakobsberg [1]. Constructed during the younger Iron Age and Viking Age (approximately 400–1100 AD), it ranks among Mälardalen's most impressive fortified sites [2]. Its strategic elevated position allowed control of major waterways connecting Uppsala, Sigtuna, Birka and the western districts of Lake Mälaren. The fortification lies within Görvälns nature reserve [3].
