Gene fornby

Gene Fornby is a reconstructed Iron Age settlement located just outside Örnsköldsvik in Västernorrland County, Sweden [1]. The settlement dates to the Roman Iron Age [2]. Archaeological evidence shows the settlement was originally positioned directly along the waterline, but post-glacial rebound has caused the coastline to recede approximately 500 metres (1,640 ft) from the site today [1] [2]. The earliest traces of human activity in the area date back to the Nordic Bronze Age [1].
