Málaga is a city in Andalusia, southern Spain, and capital of the Province of Málaga. With a population of 592,346 in 2024, it is the 2nd-largest city in Andalusia and the 6th-largest in Spain[1]. Located on the Costa del Sol along the Mediterranean, it sits primarily on the left bank of the Guadalhorce river[1]. The urban core originated between Gibralfaro Hill and the Guadalmedina[1].
