Cáparra

The Roman ruins of Cáparra lie in the Alagón River valley in northern Extremadura, Spain. Once a municipality of Roman Lusitania within the Conventus Iuridicus Emeritensis, it was accessed via the ancient Vía de la Plata road. The site features notable architectural remains including an arch[2]. Though sometimes described as having pre-Roman origins, this interpretation is debated due to the site's lack of defensive positioning and limited archaeological evidence. The settlement was permanently abandoned in antiquity.[1][2]
