Roman Circus of Mérida

The Roman Circus of Mérida is a ruined chariot-racing arena in Emerita Augusta, capital of the Roman province of Lusitania (present-day Mérida, Spain). Modeled on the Circus Maximus in Rome, it measures over 400 meters in length and 30 meters in width, capable of holding approximately 30,000 spectators. Despite its ruins, it remains one of the best-preserved Roman circuses in existence.[1]
