Ruinas Romanas de Mérida

The ruins of Emérita Augusta, a Roman city founded c. 25 BC by Emperor Augustus to settle veteran soldiers[1]. The site features one of Spain's best-preserved Roman theatre complexes, alongside an amphitheatre, circus, the Temple of Diana, and the iconic Aqueduct of Los Milagros[1][2]. Founded as a colony for retired legionaries, Mérida became one of the most important cities in Roman Hispania[1].
