South KoreaThe Tumuli Park Belt within the Gyeongju Historic Areas contains three groups of royal burial mounds from the Silla Kingdom (57 BC - 935 AD), designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. The Daereungwon Tomb Complex includes 23 large tumuli, most notably Cheonmachong (Heavenly Horse Tomb) and Hwangnamdaechong, which yielded over 11,000 artifacts including golden crowns, ornaments, and a famous birchbark painting of a winged horse. Visitors can enter the excavated Cheonmachong tomb to view its stone construction.
