Amsa-dong is a neighbourhood in Gangdong District of Seoul, South Korea, famous for the Amsa-dong Prehistoric Settlement Site — one of the most significant Neolithic sites in Korea. Archaeological excavations began in 1925 after a flood exposed large quantities of diagonal-line patterned earthenware (빗살무늬토기). Dating to 3000–1500 BC, the site is believed to be a Jomon-influenced settlement that predates the spread of Songgukri culture during the Korean Bronze Age [1].
