Stairhaven

Stairhaven is a ruined Iron Age broch perched on a rocky spur about 9 meters above the east shore of Luce Bay in Wigtownshire, southwestern Scotland. Also known as Broken Castle or Crow's Neith, it is one of only three brochs south of the Highland line, all in Wigtownshire. The structure has an overall diameter of 14.2 meters with walls 3.8 meters thick, featuring an entrance with an intra-mural passage and staircase within the north wall. A defensive ditch 4.3 meters wide crosses the ridge in front. Access is only possible from the shoreline at low tide.
