Bruach An Druimein, Kimartin Glen

Bruach An Druimein is an archaeological site located 2 km south of Kilmartin in Argyll, Scotland, within Kilmartin Glen, one of the densest concentrations of prehistoric funerary monuments in Britain. Rescue excavations directed by Eric Cregeen in 1960-62, ahead of gravel quarrying, uncovered a Bronze Age cist cemetery, two Iron Age roundhouses -- the first confirmed by excavation in Argyll -- and a 19th-century standing stone. Later reanalysis revealed medieval glass beads with chemical compositions matching those from nearby Dunadd, suggesting continued use of the site into the early medieval period.
