Edin's Hall Broch

Edin's Hall Broch is an Iron Age fortification near Duns in the Scottish Borders, built in the 1st-2nd centuries AD within an older hillfort dating to 2,000-2,500 years ago. At 22 metres in diameter with walls over 5 metres thick, it is exceptionally large for a broch, and one of only a handful found in Lowland Scotland. The surrounding hillfort features impressive double ramparts enclosing an oval area of 135m by 75m, standing up to 4.5m high. 19th-century excavations recovered artefacts including a stone spindle whorl, jet ring fragment, amber bead, and glass bracelet fragment, now in the National Museum of Scotland.
