Sallachy Broch

Sallachy Broch is an Iron Age drystone tower on the east shore of Loch Shin in Sutherland, Scotland, designated as Scheduled Monument SM1883. The broch measures approximately 31 feet in diameter with walls 15 feet thick, standing 10-12 feet high. The southeast-facing entrance features guard chambers on both sides with a visible bar hole. Within the thick walls, a staircase rises from an oval chamber to at least one upper floor. A bone implement recovered from the site in 1902 is catalogued in the National Museums Scotland.
