Balnuaran of Clava

A Bronze Age cemetery east of Inverness, Scotland, built around 2000 BC, comprising three large cairns aligned northeast to southwest. The two outer cairns are passage graves and the central one is a ring cairn with unique stone causeways radiating to standing stones. The passages align to the midwinter sunset, and the standing stones are graded in height with the tallest facing the setting sun. The site is the type-site for about 50 similar Clava-type cairns found across the Moray Firth region.
