Antas do Olival da Pêga

The Antas do Olival da Pêga are two Neolithic dolmens near Telheiro in Reguengos de Monsaraz, Alentejo, Portugal. Built between 4500–3000 BC, they were used from the Late Neolithic through the Chalcolithic. Anta 1 was first excavated by German archaeologists Georg and Vera Leisner, while Anta 2 was excavated from the 1990s by Victor Gonçalves and Ana Catarina Sousa of UNIARQ at the University of Lisbon. The tombs, roughly 300 metres apart, each held over one hundred burials, indicating they formed part of a single megalithic complex.
