PortugalA granite megalithic standing stone near Monsaraz in Reguengos de Monsaraz, Evora district, Portugal, dating to approximately 4000-2500 BC. Originally 4 metres tall, it was only identified in 1970 when found lying flat and fractured. After restoration it was re-erected, though it lost its original base which had to be recarved. Classified as a National Monument since 1970, the menhir features engraved circles and lines of uncertain meaning.
