PortugalThe Menhir of Outeiro, also called Penedo Comprido, is a megalithic monument in the Alentejo region of Portugal, situated midway between Outeiro and Barrada villages near Reguengos de Monsaraz, just kilometers from the Spanish border [1]. The large stone was found lying prostrate in 1969 by archaeologists Henrique Leonor Pina and José Pires Gonçalves, and re-erected around 1970 through Gonçalves's initiative [1]. It received national monument status in 1971 [1].
