Mawk'allaqta, Melgar

Mawk'allaqta (Quechua: mawk'a "ancient" + llaqta "place") is an archaeological site in the Nunoa District, Melgar Province, Puno Region of southern Peru [1] [2]. The site was declared a National Cultural Heritage (Patrimonio Cultural) of Peru by the National Institute of Culture [1]. It is one of at least six sites bearing the name Mawk'allaqta [3].
