Chichakuri

Chichakuri is a pre-Columbian necropolis complex in Peru's Andean highlands, featuring stone burial tombs (chullpas) alongside residential structures, walls and open plazas. [1] The site dates to approximately 1200–1500 AD, spanning the late pre-Inca to Inca periods. [2] Located at 2,800 meters elevation in the Puno Region's Ollachea District, Carabaya Province, the complex represents important Andean funerary traditions. [1] It was designated a National Cultural Heritage site by Peru's National Institute of Culture in 2003 under Resolución Directoral Nacional No. 296/INC-2003. [3]
