Waqrapukara

Waqrapukara (c. 1000-1500 AD) is an Inca archaeological site in Peru's Cusco Region, situated at 4,300 m (14,100 ft) above sea level near the Apurímac River [1]. Originally constructed by the Canchis people, who built distinctive circular structures, the site was later conquered and integrated into the Inca Empire [1]. It is believed to have served as an Inca sanctuary [1]. It was declared a National Cultural Heritage Site by Peru's Ministry of Culture in July 2017 [1].
