Hatun Uchku

Hatun Uchku is a cave containing archaeological and paleontological remains in the central Peruvian highlands. Located in the Ambo District of Huánuco Region, approximately 500 meters south of Ambo's main square at an elevation of 2,206 meters, the site was declared a National Cultural Heritage by Peruvian authorities in 2002 under Resolución Directoral No. 441/INC. The cave contains structural elements and artifacts dating from the early centuries AD, representing a significant site for understanding pre-Columbian occupation of the Andean highlands.[1]
