Guellayhuasin

Guellayhuasin (from Quechua q'illay 'iron' and wasi 'house') is an archaeological site in Peru's Pasco region, northwest of Pallanchacra village at 3,167 m elevation. Radiocarbon dating places its occupation in the Kotosh-Chavin phase between 1000 and 300 BC, corresponding to the Middle and Late Formative periods. Characteristic pottery from the site, related to the Sajara Patac phase of Kotosh, has also been found across the Huanuco, Pasco, and Junin regions, indicating the site participated in broad highland exchange networks during early Andean cultural development.
