Gran Vilaya

Gran Vilaya is an extensive pre-Incan archaeological complex in the Utcubamba Valley, northern Peru, dating to 500–1000 AD during the Chachapoya culture [1]. Located west of the Kuelap fortress, it encompasses multiple settlement centers including the Stairs, Pirquilla, Cacahuasha, Mortar, Bishop, Paxamarca, Lanche, and Secret [1]. The site comprises 15 to 30 major locations and hundreds of smaller ruins spread across a wide area [1].
