Jinkiori

Jinkiori is a petroglyph site in Paucartambo Province, Cusco, Peru, centered on a large monolith near the Queros River, about two hours' walk from Pilcopata. The engravings on the Monolith of Jinkiori have Amazonian origins and include abstract representations possibly linked to cosmological beliefs and ayahuasca use. The carvings may have been created by ancestors of the Huachipaeri, an indigenous group still living in the Kosñipata valley. Features include a small basin possibly used for preparing chicha and a distinctive key-shaped engraving.
