Caral-Supe

The Sacred City of Caral-Supe is a 5,000-year-old archaeological site in Peru's Supe Valley, 182 km north of Lima and 23 km from the coast at 350 m elevation [1]. Dating to roughly 3000 BC, it is considered the oldest city in the Americas and one of the world's earliest urban centers [1]. It features monumental pyramids, plazas, and residential areas [1]. Caral was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009 [1].
