Teotihuacan - Tetitla

Tetitla is an elite residential compound located 500 meters west of the Avenue of the Dead at Teotihuacan, inhabited from 350 to 550 CE. The complex contains 120 painted walls featuring elaborate murals of the Great Goddess (also called Spider Woman) wearing an owl headdress bordered by serpents, jaguars depicted as rulers on thrones, and owl warriors with blood-dripping beaks. The warrior-owl iconography found here correlates with similar glyphs at Tikal in Guatemala, evidencing Teotihuacan's far-reaching influence across Mesoamerica.
