Sybaris on the Traeis

Sybaris on the Traeis was an ancient Greek colony of Magna Graecia located on the Traeis river (modern Trionto) in southern Italy[1]. It was founded around 444 BC by Sybarite refugees who fled Thurii after most of them were killed by other Greek settlers in a violent conflict[1]. The city shared its name with the original Sybaris, which had been destroyed in 510 BC[1]. Sybaris on the Traeis lasted only about a century before being destroyed by the Bruttii around 356/355 BC[1].
